Firstly I am a new member to this hostboard so, Hello everyone!
I came into my Chambers after my Father gave me an old row house to move into. So, I ask my Mother over when moving in and told her all my grand plans for the home. I told her I was remodelling the kitchen and that hideous old stove has to go. My Mother, with very litte drama, said, "I wouldnt do that if I were you. I'd keep it". I am now at the age where I listen to my parents. Lets just say 30 something. So, I look the stove up on the internet and was delighted that I listened to her. I also felt great that I wasnt alone. So, again, nice to meet all of you.
Now here is my question. I am dying to know how to cook with the gas off. And I want so badly to use the soup, ice cream well thingy. Also, I'd like to get the best use out of the griddle/burner. Common sense tells me the answers to these questions are in the manual. So, does anyone have a downloadable version of the manual? Also, how do I know what model I have?

    Thanks in Advanced,
    Wisdom@30+

Welcome to the board! In no time at all you'll be using all the advantages of your chambers. There are links from this site to order manuals and cookbooks that will help you achieve chambers heaven. There aren't any that you can download. You will also get a wealth of information from members on this board who have totally overhauled their stoves. To find out your model # lift the front burner grate and drip pan off and look inside the burner. There's a tag on it that will list your model #.

Again, welcome and ask away with any questions you have...we love to chat and share our cooking and technical knowledge with fellow chambers geeks.

    Welcome Kastech

This is the right place for the help you'll need. I'm amazed at the help from the folks on this board.

The service manuals and cookbooks are the only way to truly understand these great ranges. I'm using the service manual right now cause we aren't ready to move into the kitchen. Matty's not ready (ain't that just like a woman?)

There is nothing complicated about these units, in fact they are so amazingly simple that they could have been called SIMPLICITY. There are NO METRIC FASTENERS or complicated electronics!

    Have you named your Chambers?

Hey you two, are you having a cooking marathon today? The only thing I cooked so far is french toast and a pound cake which is going to Grandma's house this afternoon. I would love your Challah recipe. I'll swap you for a great english muffin loaf recipe. It's great just like english muffins except in loaf shape so all you do is slice and toast. I love challah but the recipe I have doesn't cut it.

Hi Kas and Welcome to the Chambers Geeks Club !!! This incredible group of people will have all of the answers to all of your questions ! You are incredibly lucky to have a Chambers already in place in your new home and just as smart for listening to your mother ! Once you get your yet un-named babe up and running, you will be astonished at the performance level, ease of use, beauty of construction, materials and design. The In A Top Broiler / Griddle and the Thermobaker are amazing in function and multiple ways to use them both. Order up the manuals from Todd or Sam, do your reading, ask the quesions that will pop up and ENJOY ! In this house, it has been a busy Sunday on the Chambers...French Toast on the griddle, fresh Danish in the oven, a pot of beans and a pot of soup in the Thermowell, four loaves of Challa in the oven and we're just getting started ! All this from two guys who aren't all that crazy about cooking and baking but are in love with their Chambers !
